Just over a week ago, I had the privilege of joining my friend Kumar on a journey into Bihar (India). We flew from Chennai to Calcutta, and then travelled 12 hours by train into Bihar.
First Class on a train in India is not quite what I had expected, but at least we enjoyed air-conditioning and a good sleep.

Bihar is not only one of the most highly populated States in India, but also the poorest. The level of poverty, and the lack of education is glaringly obvious every where you look. Recently floods displaced over 1,000,000 people.

On arriving at the headquarters for Harvest Ministries in Bihar, I was very impressed at what
I saw; the layout of the site, its up-keep, the joy and commitment of the staff, and the progress that has been made in such a very short period of time.

The three photos give you a little insight into what I am seeking to describe. This site has a school with 175 student, all from mainly Hindu homes.

Harvest Ministries have now developed three such schools and planted over 40 churches.
I have made a commitment to raise $15000, (NZ) to build two new buildings similar to the building in the middle photo.
